OBDSTAR CAN Direct Kit Review

OBDSTAR has rolled out the CAN Direct kit on Toyota Corolla, RAV4 , Highlander, Avalon, Lexus ES, RS and UX. With the 8A/4A kit you don’t need additional licence with OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus/X300 Pro4.

Here is the 4A and 8A pin out for corolla, RAV4, Avalon, Highlander and your Lexus models.

1.3&4=12v
2.18 = ground
3.1 = Can-H
4.2 = Can- L

smart ecu plug has change on the 2023. OBDSTAR added a post in the center by the release button. I’m going to snip that extra piece of plastic on a 2023 corolla cross. The CAN DIRECT cable and the online calculations are working spot on, no issue 2019 to 2022 on all (A9 A9 and AA AA) (BA BA is the newest no support).
On the plug itself only the power 12v changes.. terminal 3 is for Corolla only, and 4 is for RAV4, Avalon, 4runner, Highlander.

1). For the last year I’ve been test the can direct cable working on all corolla without any issue. Im608 claims to it with there g box but there crash dummies have died.. smart pro has a can direct cable but not ready to be put out.

OBDSTAR Failed to Program Renault Duster 2021 Key?

Question: I am trying to add key Renault Duster 2021 with OBDSTAR x300 pro4. It shows the number of keys, but does not enter programming. ANy idea?

Solution:

OBDSTAR says the function not supported.

Duster over 2019 obdstar gonna erase all keys, be careful and you can’t program any key.

Autel can’t do too, only when you have pin. Use xtool or AVDI for these vehicles, obdstar can’t do it.

Program JLR 2015-2018 Key with OBDSTAR via OBD

Now Obdstar has 2015-2018 Jaguar Lange Rover all key lost by OBD function since immo software version V31.31. This upgrade can be applied to x300 dp plus and x300 pro4.

Add 2015-2018 proximity all keys lost make start key (OBD)

This function supports adding keys and all keys lost.
Add keys requires at least 1 original car key to complete key writing. All keys lost will clear all original car keys.

Requires aftermarket keys that can rewrite ID (allows ID to be changed).

1. If all keys are lost and the alarm is on, switch the emergency indicator and put on the brakes, If has a working key, turn on the ignition switch.

2. Read vehicle information
3. If there is an original car key, put the original car key into P001 and read the original car key data (all original car keys need to be read)
4. Select the location of the lost key to write the start key
5. Put the key to be generated into P001
6. Read and write keys
7. Generate the start key successfully.
