OBDSTAR iScan Ducati 2013 Multistrada Review

 OBDSTAR iscan Ducati diagnostic tool review on 2013 Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak and 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4S.

I purchased a 2013 Pikes Peak from a guy i knew, fairly low miles(10,660)

He mentioned the bike needed belts and a fuel sending unit(which he had) as well as not knowing the pin code.I R&R the parts, but the check engine light was on still. My "close" dealer is 7 hours round trip and wanted me to leave the bike for a week to read the codes. I work on many Ducati's and it's not convenient to head to Albuquerque and spend 14 hours driving all the time.

I ordered the OBDSTAR iScan Ducati scanner, and of course the horizontal MAP was bad, replaced the part and no engine light. I was able to reset the PIN as well as many advanced functions. Heated grips, DESMO/OIL lights, live scans, ABS/BBS/DES and immobilizer systems.

It also worked on my 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4S, I cleared the annual service light, can enable grips, GPS, and many other features.  You can reset pin, immobilizer functions, all adaptations on newer bikes, all service resets. So so many functions. ABS/BBU/ECU/SUSPENSION 

They claim to offer regular updates and the unit updated when I hooked it up. Time will tell, but I definitely wasn't spending 4k on a Texa or 2k on the SnapOn version. Dealer support is becoming non existent in the NM/El Paso area unfortunately.

At $369 this is all you need it for, but if you plan to do your own oil changes and Desmo services and keep the bike a while it could be worth it.

 The obdstar ducati scanner is great in that I can reset all services, plus monitor/record active data, and run the active tests on fans, fuel pump, coils, injectors, QS, etc. It’s the closest you can get to the actual Ducati IDS functionality, EXCEPT ECU flashing/tuning.

This thing is good enough that you can get yourself in trouble if you're not careful.
