OBDSTAR Failed to Add Ford Ranger 2019 Key Solution

 Here comes a similar problem:

It’s a Ford Ranger 2019 (will happen on other new Ford with active alarm). It’s a hu101 blade key with 49 chip and 433 remote. Tried with Autel IM508 also OBDSTAR X300 DP Plus both failed.

Have two keys to program. Tried to de active alarm but can’t. It’s gets stop but there is no sound after it stop but there is no horn. And can’t add key or erase key.

Solution:

Ford must always do 2 keys with all keys lost otherwise it does not work.

Need to use bypass cable. Doesn’t matter blade or smart key.
Blade or smart key doesn’t make a difference, it’s the same process!!
You have to use the Ford AKL bypass cable to disable the active alarm.

You have to disable the alarm before you can program keys. You have to disconnect the battery and have the scan tool control on/off so as soon as power is given to the car the scan tool can disable the alarm before it goes off.

With Autel IM508/IM608 you need to use the GBOX.
With obdstar you use the ford akl bypass cable.

With xhorse you use the xhorse Ford AKL bypass cable.
the Ford akl bypass cable is by far the easiest way to do it.

OBDSTAR DC706 Read Ford EMS2101 ECU on Bench

 OBDSTAR DC706 Read Ford EMS2101 CAN 29F800BB+ 93C86 ECU on Bench successfully.

OBDSTAR DC706 Failed to Read Ford Lear BCM Solution

 Some users reported that they failed to read Ford Lear MC9S12XEP768 BCM using OBDSTAR DC706 on the bench, DC706 cannot get it to communicate with the Ford Lear BCM, and neither does V2 black housing.

Here is the clue.

DC706 does both. The old version ground pin is 1 pin across. If failed to read this module with pinout 1, try pinout 3 in DC706. Pinout 1 and Pinout 3 has only one difference- the ground PIN.

Or use I/O terminal pinouts.

One of our customers had the same thing, io terminal pinout shows gnd 1 pin across. and works without problem.

OBDSTAR Tools Register Problem Solution

 Here obdii365.com collects some frequently asked registration problems and solutions of OBDSTAR tools.

 

 

1. Error 899: Incorrect user name or password when login device after registration

Solution:

Registration is not completed or successful, register the device again.

 

 

2.  Error 893: The username has been registered, please use other user name

Solution:

Change other user name and register again, it should be fine.

 

 

3. Error 812: Unregistered.

Solution:

Wrong dealer code input. Input this dealer code: 0086A002

 

 

4. Error Abnormal network connection.

Solution:

Server or network issue.

If the OBDSTAR server is under maintenance, register later.

If the server is normal, change to another stable network connection.

 

 

5. Register device ok, but failed to download software

Solution:

Wait a few minutes and try again. If still failed, change network and download software.

 

 

6. Error 876: Product not registered for sale

Solution:

Provide the device serial number to obdii365.com customer service. We will have it manually activated by OBDSTAR engineer, then try to register again with correct dealer code.

 

 

7. Error 843: None product

Solution:

1.Device is not yet registered. Register device and log in.

2. Wrong user name input, input correct user name.

 

 

8. Error Abnormal configuration quantity

Solution:

Run one-key update. If failed, clear DP information and update again.

OBDSTAR Ducati Reset 2009 Hypermotard S Service Indicator

Just purchased an OBDstar iScan Ducati scan tool off obdii365. My intent was to use it to clear the service code on a 2009 Hypermotard S. But I can't get it to work properly. I know there are dozens of pages on the OBDStar scanner tool, and yes, I've looked through them. All I get is the "Communications Error" page. It clear it's not handshaking with the ECU because I always have to enter the VIN manually. Yes, I set up the online account. Yes, I did the updates, Yes, I downloaded (or "upgraded" as they called it) the software. I just double-checked and the device says there are no other updates. Yes the ignition key is on. I'm using the cables supplied with the device. The bike has the Ducati "Race" or performance ECU installed. 

Solution:

Make sure you use all the supplied cables.  Connect one of the two cables straight to the battery for a 12 volt source to get your OBDstar Ducati scanner to work on

There is a 12V clamp cable connected to the OBDStar plug in port which end goes to the diagnostic port of the bike.

The device must be connected to the internet. You must register by OBDStar.

Updated. I made a mistake.

I was trying to use the 4 pin connector under the seat, when I should have been using the “old style” 3 pin connector (and battery power) under the right panel next to the ECU. Once I did that, cleared the service indicator in about 5 min.
