OBDSTAR P004 and Godiag GPT Cable Which is Better?

 OBDSTAR P50, DC706 and X300 Classic G3 G3 all these units come with the P004 adapter which allows you to connect a breakout cable for OBD.

Some use the Godiag GPT adapter to replace the P004 adapter.

P004 is just a cheap breakout box.

Any breakout box also works.

Use the Godiag GPT adapter, it is much better to use, easier to use, and does more.

Users have been using the godiag GPT Boot adapter instead of p004, the p004 is just cumbersome to use. Much easier this way.
Godiag GPT adapter has the 120ohm built-in which the breakout harness doesn’t. It is easy to add 12+, 120ohms and pins are somewhat decent, makes life easier. To connect CDA, PCMFlash and other tools on the “bench”, no need to carry so many other adapters. That and GT105 and GT107.

Work fine with DC706 and godiag gpt adapter.

2). Works great. Use it with MP001. The leads used on OBDstar tools are not great, and way to much yellow. i started using the godiag gtp adater and bypassing the P004 all together.  Use all the time, especially on the road great tool.

3). If i connected DC706 with Godiag, the Fiat 8GMW works fine.

 

Clone Fiat 500 8GMK ECM with OBDSTAR DC706

 OBDSTAR DC706 software works perfectly on European Fiat 8GMK, 8GMW, 8GMF ect ECUs, tested many times.

Our customer did a Fiat 500 8GMK cloning the other week witout problem at all.

You can read, write and clone those ECUs on bench using P004/MP001.

Read EXT EEPROM ok

NOTE: In North America, the ECMs might be same/similar as European/ROW versions but software is different. If DC706 failed to read US Fiat 8GMK/8GMW, send data log to OBDSTAR engineer.

 

FYI: You can clone those ECMs via P004/MP001 or even with godiag GPT adapter.

For example 8GMW works when connected with Godiag, or thru the pins on P004. You can use the godiag breakout harness instead of p004, it is much easier this way. It also has the 120ohm built in.

OBDSTAR DC706 Renault EMS3132 IMMO OFF

 OBDSTAR DC706 ECU cloning tool added Renault/Dacia EMS3132 reading/writing and IMMO off in January 2024 (check update).

We will show how to do EMS3132 IMMO off using DC706.

 

Go to ECM function

Quick search EMS3132

Select Renault Siemens EMS3132 AM29F200BB

Check instructions and wiring pinout

Connect EMS3132 ECU with DC706 and P004 following the wiring diagram

Press Start, choose Bench Mode with P004

Function requires network connection. Enable network connection.
Connect server
Turn on the ignition on P004 adapter.

Press Connect and connect to ECU

Read and save EXT eeprom and EXT flash separately.

Then Write EXT eeprom

Upload eeprom saved

Write eeprom

Press IMMO OFF

Done.

Press Disconnect.

Reinstall ECU back to vehicle and test.

OBDSTAR P004 Adapter Pinout

Does anyone have the pinout for OBDSTAR P004 adapter harness?  

Here it is:

Read and Write Hyundai SIM2K-251 ECU by OBDSTAR DC706

 OBDSTAR DC706 updated Hyundai Kia SIM2K-250 SIM2K-251 ECUs in 2023.  They fixed the bug in the new software version in Jan, 2024. Now it will read and write SIM2K 251/250 without problem.

Tools need:

OBDSTAR DC706

OBDSTAR P004 adapter

Requires ECM software version V30.41 or above (make sure is up-to-date)

Procedure:

Go to ECM->V30.41->Hyundai->Hyundai Simens/Continental SIM2K-251 TC1724+ TC1782

Read instructions and connections before operation

There are two MCUs in SIM2K250 and SIM2K260, one of the MCU types is TC1782 (stores ECM data), the other MCU type is TC1724 (stores TCM data).
If need to clone it, both ECM and TCM data need to be cloned.

 

Check wiring diagram

First comes the TCM

Then check ECM pinout.

Compared with TCM, ECM requries one more 12V jumper.

We are going to read TCM first

Connect TCM with DC706 via P004 follow the wiring diagram

Select protocol, press Start

Switch ignition off

Switch ignition on

Then press Connect

Read and save INT flash TC1724 of TCM

Read and save INT eeprom TC1724 of TCM

Write INT flash TC1724

Then write INT eeprom TC1724

Load external data, select INT eeprom TC1724 and write

Write INT eeprom successfully

Disconnect.

 

Then connect ECM with OBDSTAR DC706 via P004 follow the wiring diagram

Add a 12V jumper

Select protocol->ECM

Switch ignition off

Switch ignition on

Connect

Read and save ECM INT Flash TC1782

Read and save ECM INT eeprom TC1782

Write INT flash TC1782

Load external data, upload INT flash TC1782 and write

Write INT flash TC1782 successfully.

Write INT eeprom TC1782

Write ECM INT eeprom TC1782 successfully.

Done.
