How to Transfer OBDSTAR G3 Files from Tablet to PC?

 Sometimes you need to move memory files from your OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3 to a USB drive in order to change the data or de-clutter your files. Here is a tip on preparing the USB so the G3 can accept the files.

 

How to Transfer Files from OBDSTAR G3 Tablet to PC?

 

Preparing a USB Drive for Use With a OBDstar G3 Tool.

The procedure is similar to DC706.

 

NOTE:

It works best if properly formatted. The G3 tool seems a bit more fussy than the DC706 when it comes to the USB drive.

Format your U drive and creat a new folder for G3.

Insert a USB Disk into the USB port of the OBDSTAR G3 tablet.
Go to Home menu, press DP icon.

Go to Data Management->My Data->Local Data 

Tick files you need to transfer
Long press files you need to transfer and press Copy

Paste Files to USB Disk G3 folder.

Successfully transfer file to U drive.

Done.

Clone Fiat 500 8GMK ECM with OBDSTAR DC706

 OBDSTAR DC706 software works perfectly on European Fiat 8GMK, 8GMW, 8GMF ect ECUs, tested many times.

NOTE: In North America, the ECMs might be same/similar as European/ROW versions but software is different. If DC706 failed to read US Fiat 8GMK/8GMW, send data log to OBDSTAR engineer.

 

FYI: You can clone those ECMs via P004/MP001 or even with godiag GPT adapter.

For example 8GMW works when connected with Godiag, or thru the pins on P004. You can use the godiag breakout harness instead of p004, it is much easier this way. It also has the 120ohm built in.

Tips to Read Chrysler GPEC2A with OBDSTAR DC706

 If you have some issues reading flash on Chrysler Jeep Dodge GPEC2A PCM using the OBDSTAR DC706 ECU cloning tool, here are the tips for GPEC2A.

 

Error 1: ECU not responding

Error 2:

made all connections as instructions say to do but only get ext eeprom read and all FFFFF in flash.

Tips for working on GPEC2A:

 

There is a power issue with these you have to supply additional power. DO NOT use the power adapter they provide to power the ECU, that is only for charging the tablet.

 

For BENCH & BOOT (workbench) operation, please use a reliable high-power DC regulated power supply (current not less than 5A) to power the ECU. OBDSTAR’s standard power adapter (current 2A) is only used for device charging and is not recommended for ECU. power supply, otherwise communication may fail due to low power of the power adapter!

You need to turn on the power to computer. Click Connect, then turn off power and turn back on fast. Then it will start writing to bootloader.

 

 

 

OBDSTAR DC706 made a change on how to connect. Look at the guide. Use the p004 now and have to jump 2 pins using a 1k ohm resistor.
