How to reset Mercedes Benz 48V mild hybrid battery BMS using OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3 or P003 programmer?
Tools used:
OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3 or P50 (p50 also requires Bench-A V3 and Bench-B V2 adapter)
Network connection.
If the battery itself is not damaged and the voltage is above 45V, there is no need to disassemble the battery module for resetting.
If the battery voltage is below 45V, disassemble the battery case, disconnect the BMS module, and charge the battery until the voltage reaches 45V–47V. Battery voltage exceeding 48V may cause malfunctions.
Reset BMS Module with OBDSTAR:
Select BMS Reset function- Benz BMS (48V)- ECU Unlock.
Connect T003 adapter battery cable and DCDC cable to the battery module.
Then connect T003 adapter with P004 adapter.
Also connect 12V power supply to the OBDSTAR device.
Unlock BMS successfully.
Go to Test Platform Function-48V BMS- Benz W166 W205 W213 48V battery module.
Hi Start and measure BMS voltage with a multimeter.
It shows the current voltage is 47V. It does not exceed 48V, which indicates the BMS reset is done successfully.
