Need to clone RFH from a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Charger. Module RFHUB , MICRO MC9S12XEG384. Which is a better programmer to read 9s12 from both RFHUBs flash+ eeprom? OBDSTAR DC706 or Xhorse vvdi prog/multi prog?
The RFHUB module on the driver’s rear, just ahead of the fuel filler location.
Xhorse
Both Xhorse Multi Prog and VVDI Prog will read RFHUB MC9S12XEG384 processor.
Best way to get adapted to the car with VVDI prog, read MCU and write it to the new one. Open it up verify the chip is 9s12.
Reading these with a Xhorse is easy. You could buy a new rfhub, and share the virgin dump. If you order the exact part number rfhub, you could make a backup.
With vvdi prog you have to lift pin. Multi prog is easier.
Example with vvdi prog.
Dodge Charger RF HUB clone MC9S12XEG384
Example with multi prog. Multiprog is easier, no pin lifting.
Multiprog RF HUB MC9S12XEG384 pinout
Don’t use sticks, solder the wires. There are nice pads to solder into. Try with wires soldered like the diagram for that module shows.
If you are attempting to edit any data it will require a checksum to be done.
OBDSTAR DC706 can clone these units.
OBDSTAR DC706 will clone RFHUB Security Module from Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat easily!
With P004 adapter on bench. Don’t need to disassemble RFH module or lift pin.
The device shows the process step-by-step, including important considerations like pinouts, resistor usage, and the need for internet connectivity.
Make sure that you have the ohm switch in the correct position and the power button where they want it.
Here is a video demo.
I/O terminal will also let you read write to rfhubs might even offer Virgin files. I/O Terminal read and write those by obd and bench.
FYI:
Placing a strange rfhub, could mess up the vin in the bcm.
Best to backup the bcm with a programmer, before you put the new rfhub in.
