How-to Guide: Replace and Clone GM 2010-2013 Body Control Module (BCM) using OBDSTAR X300 Classic G3 Full or DC706.

Procedure:
Connect OBDSTAR G3 with vehicle via OBD connector as follows.
NOTE: You can also remove BCM and clone it on bench.
The device detects BCM type as Bosch 70F3385+ 24C16
Select Bosch 70F3385+ 24C16 protocol from the device menu.
Connect to the BCM and read the ECU information.
The OBDSTAR G3/DC706 will perform the following functions:
- Read EEPROM/Flash data
- Write EEPROM/Flash data
- Read the PIN code
- Change the VIN
- Reset the ECU
- Correct the mileage
Backup Original Data:
- First, read and save the EXT EEPROM 24C16 data.
- Then, read and save the INT Flash 70F3385 data.
- Read and note down the PIN code for future reference.
Read pin code.
Read and note down the PIN code for future reference.
If need to correct mileage of BCM, hit Odometer Calibration function, verify current mileage and enter new mileage you desire.
If need to change VIN, hit Change VIN function, confirm current VIN number and enter VIN number you desire.
Replace the BCM:
- Disconnect the original BCM from the vehicle.
- Remove the original BCM and install the donor BCM in its place. Match the part number with your original module before purchasing.
Program the Donor BCM:
Connect the OBDSTAR G3 device to the vehicle via the OBD socket.
Write the saved EEPROM and Flash data to the donor BCM.
Disconnect device when cloning is finished.
Done.
